In a report, the travel insurance company briefly explained that Canada is ranked highly on the list due to its cold weather, while its low population density makes it safe for travel. The main thing tourists will need to be careful of, however, are wildfires. “Canada’s plethora of forests were seemingly all burning, which has reduced air quality in most major Canadian cities,” the report read. “This made travel to Canada difficult for people with respiratory conditions.”
“As traveling destinations go it really doesn’t get much safer than Canada … Violent crime is comparatively low and there is a low incidence of gun-related crime,” the report continued.
Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection stated that its ranking involved the original questions of which countries are “largely free from terrorist activity” and “safe from disease outbreaks,” as well as the more contemporary questions of which places allow “all types of people can move about freely without discrimination or harassment.”
