Daniil Medvedev’s sensational run of form continued as he won his third successive title in as many weeks by winning the Dubai Tennis Championships on Saturday, March 4.

Medvedev won the ATP 500 event by beating defending champion Andrey Rublev 6-2, 6-2 in the final. The Russian did not drop a single set en route to his triumph in Dubai. He also got past World No. 1 Novak Djokovic 6-4, 6-4 in the semifinals of the event.

Medvedev is currently on a 14-match winning streak following his third-round defeat to Sebastian Korda at the Australian Open.

Tennis fans congratulated the 27-year-old on social media following his win in Dubai, with one user claiming that he was back to his best after his exploits over the past few weeks.

“3 titles in 3 weeks, 14 wins in a row. 18th career title (in 18 different cities), 4th consecutive Top 10 win after losing 9 in a row. It was great while it lasted for haters, but Daniil Medvedev is BACK,” the fan’s tweet read.

Daniil Medvedev the last 3 weeks to everyone out there who thought his career was finished after a tough 2022 and a straight set loss at the 2023 AO in R3 to Korda (where his wrist was bothering him and his opponent played fantastic)

@TennisPodcast Is there ever been a better example of a ‘Hard Court specialist’ than Medvedev, guy is a hard court monster.

Daniil Medvedev won his 18th career title at the Dubai Tennis Championships and his fourth in the ATP 500 series. The Russian will rise to the sixth spot in the ATP rankings on Monday.

Medvedev is next scheduled to take part in the Indian Wells Masters, the first Masters 1000 event of 2023. The 27-year-old does not have a great record at the event, with his best performance being a fourth-round appearance in 2021.

He was the top seed at last year’s tournament and reached the third round after beating Tomas Machac 6-3, 6-2 in the Round of 64. However, Medvedev lost 6-4, 3-6, 1-6 to Gael Monfils in the Round of 32.

The former World No. 1 has a 6-5 record at the Indian Wells Masters and will be eager to do well there this season. Medvedev will be among the favorites to win the tournament given his current form, especially after beating Novak Djokovic in Dubai.
