INDIANA Pacers big man Obi Toppin suffered an embarrassing moment in Saturday’s 125-111 win over the New York Knicks.

NBA fans thought the 6-foot-9 forward should have been benched for the rest of the game after he missed a wide-open dunk in the first half.

Toppin, 25, had no one in front of him as he intercepted Knicks guard Alec Burks’ pass with 8:39 left in the second quarter.

The Pacers forward charged down the court in transition and wanted to finish the play with a flashy between-the-legs dunk.

But he failed to flush it down, hitting the rim instead.

“Went for the show. No go!” Pacers announcer Quinn Buckner yelled.

And NBA Twitter slammed Toppin for his blunder.

“Was he benched for the rest of the half like he should have been?” one asked.

“Next Thursday’s Shaqtin’ a Fool,” another added.

“A few decades ago, he’d be released the next day,” a third said.

“He’s most def not winning the Dunk Contest next weekend,” one wrote.

Toppin will participate in the Slam Dunk Contest during the 2024 All-Star Weekend.

He won the competition in 2022, a year after finishing as a runner-up.

Toppin clocked 17 minutes against ex-Knicks teammates at Madison Square Garden.
