One injured in shooting near popstar Drake’s house in Toronto, area cordoned off

Police said one person was injured critically in the shooting that took place in the wee hours of Tuesday near popular rapper-singer Drake’s mansion in Toronto, Canada.

Toronto: A man suffered gunshot wounds after shots were fired near popstar Drake’s mansion in Toronto early Tuesday. The area around the sprawling property has been cordoned off as police investigate the incident.

The shooting took place at 2:09 am (local time) in which a security guard sustained critical injuries and was rushed to a hospital where he is currently undergoing treatment. The suspect reportedly fled in a vehicle after firing the shots and no description of them has been received by the cops yet.

Several bullet shells were seen scattered on the side of the road near Drake’s residence which the police marked in orange circles. Public broadcaster CBC reported that Drake’s property was under police surveillance after the shooting and that the man who sustained injuries was a security guard.

According to Canadian broadcaster CityNews, Drake was not the one who was shot. 37-year-old Drake, known for his chart-buster hits “God’s Plan” and “Hotline Bling”, was ranked as the world’s highest-grossing rapper last year.
