Lotto 47 jackpot winner worth .1M is largest prize ever won on Michigan Lottery website

LANSING, MI — A winning ticket was sold for the Lotto 47 drawing Wednesday night that is now the largest prize ever won through the Michigan lottery website. The winning ticket matched all six numbers drawn — 2-24-26-40-41-44 — to win a $7.19 million jackpot.

“Congratulations to the lucky Michigan Lottery player who made history last night winning a $7.19 million Lotto 47 jackpot, with a ticket bought online,” said Lottery Commissioner, Suzanna Shkreli. “The Lottery’s online game portfolio gives Michiganders the chance to win huge jackpot prizes with tools that promote responsible play while supporting public schools. This is a huge win for the lucky player and the Michigan Lottery’s industry-leading online game platform.”

Wednesday’s jackpot win surpasses the previous record of $5.75 million that was set in back-to-back months in February and March of 2021 by Lucky for Life players. Wednesday night’s win also marks the third time this year the Lotto 47 jackpot has been won.

The lucky winner now has one year from the drawing date to contact the Michigan Lottery’s Player Relations division at 1-844-917-6325 to schedule an appointment to claim their prize. The jackpot must be claimed in person at Lottery headquarters in Lansing.

The last players from Michigan to win a Mega Millions or Powerball jackpot is the Wolverine FLL lottery club which claimed a $1.05 billion jackpot in March 2021. With their winnings, the group plans to give back to the community.

And while they were lucky winners, it’s smart for players to check their tickets immediately as a Mega Millions winner worth $1 million sold in Southfield in 2023 went unclaimed. The money instead went to the state’s School Aid Fund.
